If you have been experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, anger, stress, or other difficult emotions for several weeks or months, it may be helpful to speak with a mental health professional. You don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming—many people seek counselling to gain support, better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, or navigate life’s challenges. Reaching out early can make a meaningful difference to your wellbeing.
I provide a range of evidence-based counselling and psychotherapy services tailored to each client’s individual needs. These include:
* EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): An evidence-based therapy for processing trauma, reducing distressing memories, and changing negative beliefs about yourself that often develop following difficult life experiences.
* Schema Therapy: Helps identify and heal longstanding patterns that originated in childhood, including unhelpful core beliefs, coping styles, and “child modes” that continue to affect relationships, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing.
* Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Teaches practical skills to improve emotional regulation, manage distress, strengthen relationships, and replace unhelpful behaviours with healthier ways of coping. As new skills are practised over time, healthier thinking and behavioural patterns can develop.
* Supportive Counselling: Sometimes people simply need a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to talk. I provide compassionate support to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, gain clarity, make sense of life’s challenges, and discover solutions that feel right for you.
Every person is different, so therapy is tailored to your goals, whether you are seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, or personal growth.
As a trained EMDR therapist and counsellor, I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges. My approach is tailored to your unique circumstances, with the goal of helping you heal, gain insight, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
EMDR therapy can help process childhood trauma, single-incident trauma, and other distressing life experiences that continue to affect you in the present. By reprocessing these memories, many people experience a reduction in emotional distress and begin to develop healthier, more adaptive beliefs about themselves and the world.
Alongside EMDR, I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and current life difficulties. Together, we work to understand the underlying causes of your challenges, identify practical solutions, and build on your existing strengths. I also integrate Solution-Focused Therapy and Positive Psychology principles to help you recognise your capabilities, increase resilience, and create meaningful and lasting change.
Some of the concerns I commonly help clients with include:
* Childhood trauma and complex trauma
* Single-event trauma
* Anxiety and excessive worry
* Depression and low mood
* Anger and emotion regulation difficulties
* Attachment and relationship issues
* Low self-esteem and negative core beliefs
* Addictions where trauma is an underlying contributing factor
* Stress and life transitions
* Neurodivergence, including support with the emotional and practical challenges that can accompany ADHD and autism
If your concern isn’t listed, you’re still welcome to get in touch. Many people seek counselling simply because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or want support to better understand themselves. Together, we can determine the most appropriate approach to help you achieve your goals
No. You do not need a referral to book an appointment with me. As a Provisional Psychologist, you can contact my clinic directly to arrange a counselling session at a time that suits you.
Although I do not provide Medicare rebates, I offer a reduced fee that is comparable to the out-of-pocket cost many people pay after receiving a Medicare rebate through a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This allows clients to access high-quality, evidence-based therapy without needing a referral from their GP.
If you have any questions about fees or whether counselling is the right option for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The number of counselling sessions you may need is unique to you and will depend on your goals, the nature of your concerns, and how long you have been experiencing them.
For example, if you are working through childhood trauma or longstanding emotional difficulties, therapy is likely to involve a longer course of treatment, often 10 sessions or more. If you are seeking support for a more recent or specific issue, you may find that just a few sessions are enough to help you gain clarity, develop effective strategies, and move forward.
Some clients choose to continue with monthly maintenance sessions after completing more intensive therapy. These sessions can provide ongoing support, reinforce progress, and help you stay on track as new challenges arise.
At your first appointment, we will discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan together. Therapy is always tailored to your individual needs, and we will regularly review your progress throughout the process.
